$5.1 trillion of debt accumulated in four years. That's the Obama record.
Paying for the debt that President Obama has accumulated in four short years would cost the average American family $70,000. Each citizen in the country would be paying $17,000 just to fund the reckless spending of this administration.
And now the President is proposing a budget for 2013 that would increase the national debt by another $1.3 trillion.
But that's not all—the President also found a way to sneak in a $1.9 trillion tax hike—the largest in the country's history. Does anyone besides this President really believe increasing taxes is what our stagnant economy needs?
Tell Obama that enough is enough: reckless spending, higher taxes and more debt are the problem, not the solution!
It's remarkable that the same presidential candidate who in 2008 claimed that increasing the debt ceiling was "unpatriotic" and "irresponsible" is now hypocritically embracing record budget deficits and adding trillions more to a national debt that is already crippling our economic future.
For years, Obama and the career politicians in Washington have given speeches and last minute election appeals promising to be responsible fiscal stewards, and all that's gotten us is $5 trillion more of debt. The rhetoric and reality don't line up and I need you to sign our petition to help to put a stop to the waste.
They have no problem running up the taxpayer's credit card while looking the other way when it's time to make tough spending cuts. I'll make sure that ends when I'm in the Senate.
I'm the only candidate in the race who has a detailed plan to stop Washington's addiction to debt.
My plan lays out bold, conservative proposals to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment, cap spending, and institute the budgetary reforms needed to hold the politicians in Washington accountable for spending our tax dollars responsibly.
