Texas Mayors Endorse Tom Leppert for Senate

Tuesday, November 08, 2011 | Comments () | Permalink

Today, the campaign is excited to announce the endorsement of ten current and former Texas mayors.

In total, these mayors represent over 1.1 million Texans.

The endorsers include the mayors of Arlington, Corpus Christi, McKinney, Denton, Sugar Land, Farmers Branch, Southlake, and Parker, and the former mayors of Richardson and Farmers Branch.

Arlington and Corpus Christi are two of the three largest cities in the state with a Republican mayor.

Here is what some of the mayors think about Tom’s proven record of leadership in both the private sector and the public sector:

"Tom Leppert's leadership would bring a new dynamic business leadership to the Senate. Tom is a problem solver. From growing businesses and creating thousands of jobs in the private sector to implementing a pro-growth and pro-business agenda as mayor of Dallas, Tom has proven record of leadership and success that no other candidate can match."

The Hon. Joe Adame

Mayor, City of Corpus Christi

"Tom brought in a much-needed commonsense business approach to the mayor's office, and the growth and successes of Dallas under his leadership is nothing short of impressive. We need a leader like Tom who has a bold, conservative plan to revive our nation's stagnant economy, and has the experience and proven record to put that plan into action."

The Hon. Robert Cluck

Mayor, City of Arlington

“As mayor, Tom utilized the experience he gained in the private sector to create a pro-growth, business-friendly environment that motivated 50 companies to relocate to Dallas. Tom will be the champion of the private sector in the Senate and help lead the fight against big government.”

The Hon. Mark Burroughs

Mayor, City of Denton

“Tom understands that fundamental decisions are best made at the grassroots local level. We need a Senator who will fight to stop the burdening size and scope of the federal government and empower local governments and America’s small businesses.”

The Hon. Joe Cordina

Mayor, City of Parker

The mayors join a growing list of Texas leaders who have thrown their support behind Tom. Last month, over 100 of Texas’ top job creators and business leaders endorsed Tom’s candidacy because of his proven record of creating jobs, balancing budgets and growing businesses.

In July, Tom received the endorsement of Congressman Michael C. Burgess, one of the top conservative leaders in Washington.

Here is the list of the 10 mayors who think Tom is the best choice to be Texas’ next Senator:
